Using Straight cables:
1. Connect PC1 to Switch Fa0/1
2. Connect PC2 to Switch Fa0/3
3. Connect Switch Fa0/13 to Router Gi0/0

Click on PC => Desktop => IP Config
PC1 	IP add 10.1.1.100 
	Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
	Default Gateway 10.1.1.1
PC2 	IP add 10.1.1.101
	Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
	Default Gateway 10.1.1.1

PC1> ping 10.1.1.101     (success!)

Click on Switch => go to CLI
Press ENTER & you will see Switch>
Type the following:
Switch> ?		(view the available commands)
Switch> e?		(commands starting with e)
Switch> enable
Switch# ?		(view the available commands)
Switch# config t
Switch(config)# hostname SW1
SW1(config)# exit	(return to privileged mode)
SW1# show run	(press space for next page)
SW1# show interface	(viewing all the interfaces)
SW1# sh int fa0/1	(viewing int fa0/1 only)
SW1# sh ip int brief	(A summary of all interfaces)
SW1# show history
SW1# show start	(not present)
SW1# copy run start	(to save to start)
(Press ENTER twice after copy run start)

SW1# show start	(config is the same as run)
SW1# ping 10.1.1.100		(Fail => cause Switch has no IP add configured)

SW1# conf t
SW1(config)# int vlan 1
SW1(config-if)# ip add 10.1.1.11 255.255.255.0
SW1(config-if)# no shut
SW1(config-if)# end	OR CTRL+Z
SW1# ping 10.1.1.100 	(ok)
SW1# ping 10.1.1.101		(ok)
SW1# show mac-add		(To view the learned mac addresses)

(To check the mac add of your PC)
PC => Desktop => Command Prompt
PC1> ipconfig /all
(Physical add = Mac add)
(which appeared on the mac add table)

SW1# conf t
SW1(config)# int fa0/1
SW1(config-if)# exit

(What is the difference between disable & exit when you typed at the Privileged mode?)
